Aman Ki Asha - Yet another peace initiative

The two leading media houses of India and Pakistan - The Times of India and the Jang Group - have come together to develop a stronger Track 2 in the diplomatic and cultural relations between India and Pakistan.

"Aman ki Asha: Destination Peace" looks beyond the confines of a 62-year-old political boundary to the primal bonds that tie together the two peoples.

This surprizing initiative came even after India sees no change in Pakistan's attitude towards jihadists, nothing that Islamabad was yet to take credible action either to bring the perpetrators of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks to justice or to dismantle the "infrastructure of terror".

"one of the concerns we've had in recent years is that there appears to have been a tendency in some parts of the Pakistani establishment to think there are good terrorists and bad terrorists."
As per Mr. Tharoor :
"The good terrorists are the guys who go off and bomb Indians, and kill Indians in India. And the bad terrorists are the ones who attack Pakistani interests, whether in Afghanistan or inside Pakistan".

In spite of all these grievances, both these countries will need to enter new decade with hand in hand.

Why India need Pakistan:

Let me make an apparently outrageous proposition: in the coming years, India's best protection is likely to come from its traditional enemy, the Pakistan Army. Therefore, India ought to now help, not fight, against it.

Why Pakistan need India:

India can be a big brother to Pakistan and can give support to Pakistan's drowning economy. India can help Pakistan in cutting terrorist roots, which in turn is not only good for Indian sub-continent but also for whole world.
