The two leading media houses of India and Pakistan - The Times of India and the Jang Group - have come together to develop a stronger Track 2 in the diplomatic and cultural relations between India and Pakistan.
"Aman ki Asha: Destination Peace" looks beyond the confines of a 62-year-old political boundary to the primal bonds that tie together the two peoples.
This surprizing initiative came even after India sees no change in Pakistan's attitude towards jihadists, nothing that Islamabad was yet to take credible action either to bring the perpetrators of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks to justice or to dismantle the "infrastructure of terror".
"one of the concerns we've had in recent years is that there appears to have been a tendency in some parts of the Pakistani establishment to think there are good terrorists and bad terrorists."
As per Mr. Tharoor :
"The good terrorists are the guys who go off and bomb Indians, and kill Indians inIndia . And the bad terrorists are the ones who attack Pakistani interests, whether in Afghanistan or inside Pakistan ".
In spite of all these grievances, both these countries will need to enter new decade with hand in hand.

Why
Let me make an apparently outrageous proposition: in the coming years, India 's best protection is likely to come from its traditional enemy, the Pakistan Army. Therefore, India ought to now help, not fight, against it.

Topics of discussion:
Will India and Pakistan be friends ?? ( I bet if anyone can answer this one )
Will India ever trust Pakistan , even after Kargil war and 26/11 attack ??
Does Pakistan still feel India as a bigger threat than its home grown terrorism ?
Guys, discussion is on!!! Your comments awaited.

Nice Article!!
ReplyDeleteRightly said, We can choose our friends but we can not choose our neighbors.

I agree that India and Pakistan need to work together in new era.

ReplyDeleteIf one examines situation of Pakistan impartially then one reaches the conclusion that most of the criteria for a failed state are clearly visible in Pakistani society today. I leave it to the judgement and wisdom of the readers to decide if Pakistan is a ‘failed state’, ‘successful state’, a ‘fort of Islam’ or a state struggling for its survival. However one thing is clear that Mohammed Ali Jinnah did not dream this kind of Pakistan...
